From their paws to their tail, you love everything about your dog…That is, everything except their incessant barking. If your furry friend is a little too talkative sometimes, we spotted a highly-rated, handy ultrasonic dog training tool that pet owners say instantly stops their dogs barking. Think it can’t get better? Think again. It’s anti-shock and a whopping 38% off for Prime members. Usually around $46, you can snag this 4.5-star rated device for just under $30. A small price to pay for something users call their “best purchase ever!!” and “like a magic switch.” So many reviewers are trading in e-collars that shock their pets (dear!) for this kinder option. The last time this went on sale, HuffPost readers bought it in droves and it sold out quickly, so grab one before the price goes back up.
Designed to emit an ultrasonic frequency only dogs can hear, an audible beep you can hear and work as a flashlight, it’s a compact, multi-purpose tool that’s easy to use and carry.

“I have the yappiest lil dude, and this has been a life saver!” one review wrote.
“Within a couple takes, he started to get it, and started calming down. It’s made a huge difference, the house is quieter, and he even seems more toned down.”
So how does this thing work?
In short, an “ultrasonic” sound just means a sound that’s too high a frequency for humans to hear. Because dogs’ ears are more sensitive than ours, they can hear a range of noises that we can’t. As an “ultrasonic” device, this trainer emits a sound that inspires them to stop barking — immediately.
“I’m stunned at how well this works,” a reviewer whose dogs fence fight with their neighbors said. “One quick push of a button and it all stopped instantly. I couldn’t believe it. We have 9 dogs between us and they all shut up instantly and stared at me.”
According to the brand, the trainer works for the majority of dog breeds and has three synchronized sound heads providing ample sound coverage. This means you can send some “shhh” to your pup even when they’re not sitting right next to you.
“With 6 training modes and a 23-ft range, it works whether he’s barking at the front door or across the yard like a neighborhood watch captain,” one review said. “It’s compact, rechargeable, and doesn’t make me feel like a villain.”
While the trainer is branded as a bark-deterrent, some pet parents report it helping with other behavioral training, too!

Pet parents report that it’s helped curb jumping, biting and pulling on the leash during walks. “We also use it when they stray too far for our liking and they know when we press the button that they need to come back,” another user said.
The brand says a single charge should give you up to 30 days of regular use or up to 180 days of standby time. Users love how easy it is to carry, making it a consistent part of their routine. “Super lightweight, you can literally put in it your pocket and have it wherever,” one said. “It’s safe, which I love, no shocking him or harnesses. A nice gentle noise that gets his attention.”
Within the debate about the best way to train dogs (and the ethics of ultrasonic devices), many dog owners and professionals agree that sonic training is less harmful to pups than shock collars or other more punitive methods of training.

“We’ve been using this device during our training sessions & it’s worked surprisingly well to interrupt his behavior & redirect his attention,” one review said. “I’m opposed to anything that shocks, so I would definitely recommend incorporating this into your routine.”
There are also many reviews from owners who have tried more forceful training methods like shock collars, spray bottles and vibrating devices, saying this sound trainer was “the only thing” that worked.

“Ditch the e-collar….:) This one works like magic. So far I’ve used it to control unwanted behavior such as digging, getting on the furniture or barking when the mail man is on the front porch. I would say the results are amazing. I’ve started training the dog with it and the dog is responding really well. My wife uses it when she’s walking our dog and she loves it. I would definitely recommend it, it’s a great gadget to have and surely makes things a lot easier to handle and work with your dog. I like how it’s pocket size, just charge it and you’re on the go. small where you can fit it in your back pocket yet effective. So far so good. Cost wise, I’ve seen similar priced way higher and i made sure i did my research before I bought this and i am glad i did, i bought the right one. I think you won’t be disappointed.” — Sami Hammoud
“I was skeptical when I ordered this. I tried a similar device with other dogs years ago but thought perhaps the technology has improved. When it arrived, my first impression was it’s well made with a metal case, not plastic. Then I read the instructions – don’t use with older dogs or with two dogs. I was almost ready to send it back right then, as I wouldn’t have ordered it knowing those two things. We have two dogs, a 15 y.o. chihuahua and a 2 y.o. malinois. Well it’s a good thing I decided to try it first, because it’s worked like a charm! Yep, they stop barking (whether just one or both. We also have a very large hillside yard, backed by open land that has lots of wildlife. If the malinois is up the hill barking at whatever is up there (deer, turkey, bobcat, etc.) this absolutely grabs her attention. Sometimes I do have to hike halfway up the hill to get in range, but once she hears it, she comes, just as quickly and effectively as if she had on an e-collar. I’m just using the basic setting so far, no need for the variable frequency. The flashlight feature is nice and bright, very useful for those late night events.” — J. Finder
“I was suffering with dogs barking like crazy every time any little thing they could hear most of the time there was absolutely nothing there and they still would bark like crazy every time I took them outside they’d run across the street to whoever was outside in their yard, I was constantly having to corral them to get them back home This worked the first time out of the box I pressed on the ultrasonic button and they turned right around in the middle of the road and came running back and it’s been working perfectly ever since I could recommend it highly” — carol s thompsongraham
“Yes!! Something that finally works for my barky pups. I used it once and the barking stopped. I thought it was going to take forever. It’s compact and easy to use. Plus for the price you just can’t beat it. Bright orange so you can’t misplace it!” — Laura Mestas
“Works great on my 3 dogs. Just enough to get their attention and not send them off yelping. I also deliver mail and at a few points a dog or two bark so loudly near me that it’s almost painfully loud. Now I get to distract the dogs with my own noise (silently) and get my job done. I’m happy they included a light in this model. Battery, light and emitter are all very effective and work great. Feels like a solid and quality product. Good buy and money well spent.” — Dave
Also, if you want to keep your pet feeling as cute as they look, you should know vets recommend water fountains instead of the traditional bowls. Former HuffPost shopping reporter Haley Zovickian already curated a list of vet-approved options below.

A dog fountain with an innovative whirlpool design (30% off)
Vets recommend using water fountains to encourage your pet to drink more water, as fountains better align with dogs’ and cats’ evolutionary instincts.
We think Petlibro’s 8-liter water fountain is a great option, and it’s on sale for less than usual right now.
The fountain’s whirlpool design helps keep water cool while whisking impurities like dirt and hair down the center into the multi-layer filtration system. Designed for large and medium-sized dogs, the whirlpool also helps minimize over-gulping to reduce indigestion and vomiting, much like a slow feeder.
The fountain’s anti-splash shield is an extra plus so your floor doesn’t get drenched from your pup’s water-guzzling.
Pro Tip: Amazon only notes this as a 10% off deal BUT per our trackers, this is actually usually around $60, so you’re really getting around a 33% discount. Grab it while you can before Amazon realizes the error.

It’s ceramic and heavy enough my cat can’t knock it over, which is great. Been using it for about a month with no issues. I add water regularly and completely empty and clean it out once a week. Easy to assemble/disassemble.” — K
