The proposals lodged with Breckland Council seek permission to transform part of a horse stable at Field Barn Farm, in Bawdeswell, into kennels.
The designs suggest the farm would be home to around 24 dogs, but possibly as many as 30, and include an exercise area outside the building.
However, while the application states the nearest homes are “some considerable distance” from the site, neighbours are worried the noise will travel across the fields and result in a disturbance.

One objection submitted to the council said: “The continual barking of up to 30 dogs would travel and be completely unacceptable.
“We have lived in this property for 21 years and have enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside, with no problem.
“It seems incredibly unjust that we should now suffer a significant adverse impact to our quality of life, just to satisfy what is effectively an outdated sport to kill, for no good reason.”
The applicant has stressed the site is “isolated” and the proposals would not result in any “significantly adverse impacts” on neighbouring homes.
The plans will be considered by Breckland Council’s planning department in due course.
