‘Puppy Kisses with Santa’ will be held at the Madras Stay Center

WAK-9 Training, a local dog training and boarding company, is holding a dog photo opportunity with Santa to raise money for the training facility’s newer therapy dog program, which started in August.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 13, Puppy Kisses With Santa will take place at the Stay Center, which normally operates as a firearm sale and training facility at 915 US-97 in Madras.
Each photo will cost $10, with an added $5 for Polaroids. All proceeds will go into the therapy dog program, which recently licensed eight dogs after they completed the 10-week training program that WAK-9 owner and principal trainer, William O’Daniel, held.
O’Daniel is hoping this fundraiser will allow him to lower the cost and make the program more financially available to people.
“If we can raise funds for the support of it, then I can make it more accessible,” he said.
When thinking of what they could do, O’Daniel noticed there wasn’t any dog-related Christmas events, and he decided to fill that gap.
“I know the dogs don’t care,” O’Daniel said. “But families care, and it brings joy to them.”
