Named Peppa, the young pup will soon start her journey with Cheshire Constabulary’s Dog Unit after being donated by Lisa Haughton from the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit.
Ms Haughton said: “Peppa is a Sprocker spaniel bred from my own home-bred working Sprocker spaniel, Ruby.
“Her father is Merlin, a working cocker spaniel from the renowned Spanbella Gundogs based in Whitchurch, Shropshire.
“She is very special to us.”
Peppa is now living with her new handler full time ahead of her Police Dog training that will commence in the coming weeks.

Cheshire Constabulary’s canine team supports officers in a variety of specialist tasks, including tracking fleeing suspects, detecting hidden drugs and weapons, and locating electronic devices.
The Dog Unit will share regular updates on Peppa’s progress during training.
Her final role within the team will be determined as she advances through the programme.
