Described as a “sweet and soulful boy”, Stout needs a calm, patient environment where he can build confidence and thrive. He enjoys slower-paced walks where he can sniff and explore without the hustle and bustle of busy areas.
Stout already has some basic training and, with gentle encouragement, he could make great progress.
He is bright and eager to learn but can be strong on the lead when excited, so continued positive training will be important.
Staff say the handsome young dog would do best in a quiet, predictable household. He can be unsure around new people, so a home without too many visitors would help him settle.
While he has not lived with children before, Dogs Trust believes he could live happily with youngsters aged 10 and over who understand when he needs space.
For those unable to adopt, Dogs Trust Cumbria is also looking for volunteer foster carers to provide temporary homes for dogs that need longer stays.
The charity provides all essentials including food, bedding and vet care.
Anyone interested in adopting or fostering can find out more by contacting Dogs Trust Cumbria directly.
