On Saturday, November 8, the trainee search dogs were put through their paces across Cumbria.
Dogs Dash and handler Elly from Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) and graded team John and search dog Ceilidh from Kendal MRT took part in training on the fells of Tebay.

Meanwhile two trainee Water Search Dogs (WSD) took part in exercises at the River Lyvennet.
Writing on social media, the Lake District Mountain Rescue Searchdogs said: “What an amazing day we had training on Saturday (November 8). Lots of learning and progression.

“Whilst Trainee Search Dog Dash and his Handler Elly (Keswick MRT) and graded team John and Search Dog Ceilidh (Kendal MRT) were out on the fells of Tebay, our two Trainee Water Search Dogs (WSD) Tawny, with Handler Jen, and Pip, with Handler Emma, spent the day at the River Lyvennet, putting those excellent noses to a slightly different test.

“Thank you to our amazing dogs bodies who gave up their Saturday to be barked at and slobbered on.
